Mühlen M20A

Metal Wire Punching & Binding Machine

Dual Press Lever

With its double-sided, double-hinged lever system, the MÜHLEN M20A allows for much cleaner and smoother binding while applying less pressure. This pressing system also reduces the strain on the machine's moving parts and extends its service life.

German Engineering Quality

Designed by German engineers, the model has a fully steel construction, with both its moving and fixed parts made entirely of steel, ensuring it will perform for many years without loss of performance.

No Need for Anything Else

From punching paper and placing documents into the binding material to pressing documents in the binding material to make them ready for use, the MÜHLEN M20A performs all these functions without needing any external tool.

Free Pin Punching System | 34 Pins

The model's highly user-friendly system of 34 free pins allows the user to punch documents at whatever spacing they wish. For example, this makes it possible to eliminate the half-holes that appear at the corners of paper, and if the user wants to fit a hanging clamp for binding, the pins in the middle section of the documents can be lifted.

Punches 20 Sheets at a Time

Thanks to its punching blades made of special alloy steel with a 5-year warranty, combined with the double-sided single-lever pressing system, the machine punches up to 20 sheets at a time smoothly and comfortably with much less force required.

120-Sheet Binding Capacity

With its guide bars for binding 1 to 120 sheets, the hooks that place the wire material, the binding channel integrated into the machine, and the binding thickness adjustment that sets how many pages will be bound, the model performs extremely easy and professional binding operations.

Adjustable Margin Setting

Thanks to the 3-step margin adjustment, the user can decide how far from the edge or how close to the corner the documents are punched, allowing for very elegant bindings. In general, thicker binding books are punched closer to the edge, while thinner bindings can be punched further in.

Mühlen M20A — Metal Wire Binding Machine for 3:1 Double-Loop Wire

Who Is It For?

The Mühlen M20A metal wire binding machine is a manual punch-and-bind unit for offices, accounting and law firms, print shops, schools and copy centres that want a sturdier, more refined finish than plastic spirals. Punching, placing the wire and pressing it closed are all done on the same machine without any external tool, which suits presentations, reports, catalogues, theses and proposals. It binds documents from 1 to 120 sheets using 3:1 double-loop wire.

Key Features and What They Do

  • Double-sided, single-lever press: both hands grip the lever, so up to 20 sheets are punched smoothly with less force and less strain on moving parts.
  • 34 movable pins: lift individual pins to avoid half-holes at the paper corners, or free the middle section when a hanging clamp is to be fitted.
  • Built-in closing channel: hooks hold the wire while pages are added, and the press channel closes it neatly.
  • Sliding thickness switch: sets the closing size according to how many pages are being bound.
  • Margin options of 2.5, 4.5 and 6.5 mm: thicker books are usually punched closer to the edge, thinner ones further in.
  • Square 4.25 mm holes at 8.47 mm pitch: handles documents up to 300 mm wide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What binding wire does the M20A use?
It works with 3:1 double-loop metal wire; the wire thickness depends on the page count.

Can I skip holes at the corners?
Yes. Each of the 34 pins can be lifted, so corner holes or holes in the middle of the edge can be left out.

What warranty is provided?
The punching blades, made of special alloy steel, have a 5-year warranty; other components are covered for 24 months.

What are the machine's dimensions and weight?
The product measures 435x335x205 mm with a net weight of 7.5 kg.

Usage and Care Tips

Use the movable paper-corner guide to line up each set before punching, and keep to 20 sheets per pass. Choose the wire size for the page count, set the sliding thickness switch to match, and then close the wire in the press channel for an even result. Lift unused pins before starting a document format that needs a different hole pattern.
